Card provider Morgan Stanley has revamped its range of UK cards, slimming it down to just 2 products and updating the deals it offers in the process.

The Gold Card has been dropped, while the Platinum Card sees its cashback rate raised to 3% on all purchases made for the rest of 2006 before reverting to 1%.

The Platinum Card’s balance transfer offer has also been changed from 5.9% for the life of the balance to 3.9% until 1st July 2010 - probably the longest non-for-life introductory period yet seen, albeit not at 0%.

Changes to Morgan Stanley’s other card offering, the ‘Buy and Fly’ travel rewards card, are less dramatic - the previous 6 months 0% deal on purchases has been dropped, and the 0% balance transfer deal has been extended from 6 to 9 months.

There’s also an offer of a double reward points rate for the first 6 months after account opening.
