A unique new kind of credit card has been launched by Lloyds TSB in partnership with Airmiles. The Duo Card account, with which you can earn 1 Airmile for every £10 you spend, has the innovative feature of being compatible with both Mastercard and American Express.

Although each Duo account has one monthly statement, one PIN number, and one account holder, there are two physical cards which each work with one of the payment processors named above. This, say the issuers, means that the card is even more widely accepted and gives you more chance of building up Airmiles wherever you are in the world.

The Airmiles points that you build up by spending with the card can be used to book flights, Eurostar travel, cruises, and even tickets for the Orient Express.

The APR of the card, at the time of launch, is 15.9%.
