The Co-operative Bank have launched a new credit card that rewards ethical consumerism with a lower interest rate. The ‘Think’ card features a standard rate of 14% typical APR, but for purchases at certain designated ‘ethical’ partners the rate is halved to just 7%.

The partners include Ikea, Aldi, thetrainline.com, and parts of the Co-op Group itself.

There are immediate benefits for the environmentally conscious shopper too - when you make your first transaction, half an acre of Brazilian rainforest will be bought and protected in your name, while donations of 25p per £100 spent will be made to green charity Cool Earth.

The Think card is the latest in a long line of ethically orientated products and services from the Co-op, who are one of the pioneers of ethical finance and consumerism.
