Barclaycard OnePulse On The Way…

The launch of a new ‘3 in 1′ payment card from Barclaycard gets nearer with the launch of a pre-registration option for people wishing to express their interest in applying before the final launch.

The new card will combine an ordinary Barclaycard Visa, an Oyster card for use on public transport in London, and a new OneTouch contactless payment system which allows cardholders to pay for transactions under £10 by simply swiping their card.

Although thus far only one retailer has signed up for this new system, Barclaycard said that it had been met with ’significant interest’ by retailers, and it fully expected that thousands of the terminals will be put into use over the next year.

OnePulse is expected to be released by Autumn this year, and is expected to launch at an APR of 14.9% with an interest free period on purchases of 6 months.
The company says that it plans to roll out additional, non-London themed OneTouch cards across the rest of the country over the course of 2008.
