Holders of the MyTravel credit card have been warned that they have only a few months to redeem their reward points before February 5th 2007 or risk losing them when their accounts are transferred over to another card.

The card allowed holders to build up points which could be used to discount the costs of holidays booked through the tour operator, but issuers HBOS have decided to withdraw the card after a low take up of only around 6000 accounts in the five years it has been available.

Although customers have understandably complained about the short notice, MyTravel have said that vouchers for points built up will not be issued and any points not redeemed through the booking of a holiday before the cutoff date will be lost.

The compny has, however, said that they will be ’sympathetic’ towards customers who contact them before the deadline to voice concerns over redeeming their points in time.
