MBNA Platinum Visa Credit Card
MBNA are perhaps best known for their range of affinity and charity cards, but the Platinum Visa is probably the nearest thing to a 'normal' card they have in their portfolio.
It doesn't have any really outstanding features, it might even seem a little boring, but it's a good solid credit card from a global company with a good record.
Probably the most striking feature is the long balance transfer offer of 0% for 13 months, although as is usual nowadays there's a 2.9% handling fee on balance transfers.
The Platinum Plus also features an introductory deal of 0% on purchases for 3 months, after which the standard rate of 16.9% typical APR will apply.
So should you apply for this card? There's no reason to avoid it, and if you don't want a card loaded with gimmicks that you don't need, or have to pay for with a higher rate, then the Platinum Plus makes a solid choice.
