Marbles Card

The marbles card has been around for a good few years now, and was one of the first 'direct' credit cards featuring online accountmanagement. It is issued by HFC Bank who are themselves a part of HSBC.

By today's standards, the card may seem a little basic - there's not much in the way of added benefits such as cashback or rewards, although you can get discounts on holidays booked through Thomas Cook and a range of other travel-related benefits such as discounted travel insurance and airport parking.

The main selling point of the card is the introductory balance transfer offer - 0% for 12 months although a 2% handling fee applies. The standard rate of the marbles card is 15.9% typical APR, which is okay but not outstanding.

The other stand-out feature is th e 'safe shopping' promise which guarantees that you won't be liable for any fraudulent online use of your card whatsoever.

All in all, the marbles card is an unexotic offering but one which is worth considering if you're worried about online shopping security, and would benefit from a lengthy introductory balance transfer deal.
