The Hilton HHonors Platinum Card is a simple card with a standard 6 month balance transfer offer (complete with 2% handling fee), a middling APR, and one stand-out feature: HHonors Points.
Aside from the dubious name of the rewards program, which clearly shows the American roots of this card, it's quite a good deal. Earn points on everything you spend, which can be used at Hilton Hotels around the world. The going rate is 2 points for every pound you spend (or 3 points per pound if you're spending at a Hilton location), and you'll get a bonus of 5,000 points when the card is first used.
Being accepted for this card also gives you 12 months free membership of Hilton's VIP club, which gives you benefits such as free use of fitness facilities at the hotels.
If you're already a Hilton customer, or regular traveller who would consider staying there, this card could work out to be very valuable. If you're not, there's little to make it stand out from the crowd.
