The Egg Card

The Egg Card is one of the most popular credit cards in the UK, and was a pioneer of easy online banking, along with introducing the balance transfer deal to this country back in 2000.

It's a feature they still rely on heavily, with a pretty good introductory deal of 0% on all balance transfers until 1st February 2010 combined with a 0% purchases deal until 1st February 2009.

To keep the value of the card going into the future, you can also make use of the so-called 'anniversary offers' of 0% for 5 months on transfers made on the first and second anniversaries of your account being opened.

In all cases, a balance transfer fee applies, as is unfortunately the case more or less everywhere nowadays - see the egg site for details of the current rates.

The standard rate of the egg card is 16.9% typical APR, and by choosing egg you'll get special offers and discounts with selected retailers as well as discounts on egg's insurance products.
