Capital One Balance Transfer and Purchases Card
CARD NO LONGER AVAILABLE, details are for archive purposes only.
Capital One offer several versions of their Platinum Card, with this version falling squarely into the 0% balance transfer bracket, boasting as it does 0% until 1st February 2010 on balances transferred, which is up there with the longest deals on the market, although as you'd expect a transfer fee of 3% applies.
The zero per cent offerings don't stop there either - you can also expect to pay no interest on purchases until 1st February 2009, which could be very handy over a busy shopping period.
The standard rate of the card is 15.9% typical APR which is fair to middling - there are definitely cheaper cards out there, but in today's climate cards are getting more expensive across the board, so that rate is pretty sound.
As with all Capital Once cards, there's a free identity theft protection service, with free online ID theft alerts powered by Equifax, one of the UK's biggest credit reference agencies.
