Low Balance Transfer Rate 'For Life'

More and more cards are now offering a new kind of balance transfer deal. Rather than featuring 0% for a fixed number of months, these cards do charge interest on balance transfers, but at a lower rate than the standard APR they use for purchases.

This low rate is permanent, and lasts until the balance is cleared.

With most cards, your monthly repayments will go towards paying off this low-interest balance first, leaving any balance you build up through purchases to attract interest at the card's standard rate.
